Child Behaviour Specialist Perth: Educating teachers, parents, and professionals on understanding and managing challenging behaviours.

About CDBS

At Child Development and Behaviour Specialists we focus on evidence-based practices to build educators’ capacity, skills, knowledge, and practices in behaviour and development, to improve a child’s behaviour, environment, and overall wellbeing of all involved.

We believe most difficult behaviours are modifiable, aiming to empower every child to succeed. Behaviour modification occurs when collecting observable and measurable data and , influencing controllable factors, and implementing consistent, practical, and positive practices, instead of focusing on the nature of the behaviour itself.

Our passion lies in fostering well-being, strong connections, and positive social relationships, leading to lifelong positive outcomes. We are dedicated to supporting individuals, educators and organisations  with the necessary skills and knowledge to support children’s behavioural and developmental needs.

About Kelly

Kelly Oldfield – GradDipPsych(Adv) BBS(Psych)

My name is Kelly Oldfield, I work as a Child Behaviour Consultant here in Perth, and I am the owner and director of Child Development and Behaviour Specialists.

With over 17 years of experience as a behaviour consultant, I have worked with children aged 2 to 16, including those with challenging and complex behaviours, and diagnosed conditions.

My work spans across public, private, and independent schools, education support centres, and childcare centres, throughout both metropolitan and regional Western Australia.

My core belief is that most challenging behaviours can be modified when more emphasis is focused on identifying and understanding the function of behaviour, influencing controllable factors, and implementing consistent, practical, and positive practices, instead of focusing on the nature of the behaviour itself.
