Who I am
As a mum of 4 children, my interest in behaviour therapy began in 2009, when my eldest son required speech therapy for a language delay
and ongoing ENT problems. Through helping him with his intensive therapy, I found myself drawn to the behaviour management side of
therapy. As my family grew, I began to understand how positive reinforcement could have a positive impact on my children behaviour,
development and resilience. My career has evolved to now provide support to children and their families who require assistance with any
developmental or behaviour requirements.
My practice includes educating kids on how to be safe in addition to providing them with a safe space to learn in. As an advocate for
boundaries and structure, I find children’s behaviours are readily adaptable whilst ensuring their uniqueness is captured.
What I love about my job is the ability to have a positive influence on a child and their environment. I am a firm believer that every child should be encouraged to be an individual in their own right and have a voice. I wholeheartedly believe that children are more than their behaviours and, with the right kind of mentoring, can change the way a child conducts
his or herself.
As a Protective Behaviours Practitioner, Protective Behaviours is a strong passion of mine.
I believe every child has the right to feel safe at all times. To ensure our children are safe it is vital to empower every child and educate all adults with the preventable strategies and skills to reduce and prevent child abuse and violence within the community.
Child Development and Behaviour Specialists can provide services to individuals and organisations living within the metropolitan area as well as organisations located in regional and rural areas with tailored behaviour support and training.
